Now back to our regularly scheduled blogging...

If you ask my husband if there was anything about me that he wasn't particularly thrilled about chances are it would have something to do with discarded furniture on curb sides. Yup I'm what my neighbors might call a "Gypsy". Not in a literal sense but that is what they call people who drive around collecting peoples unwanted items before trash day. It's ironic because I distinctively remember  my mother asking me to help her pull an item out of the dumpster when I was in High School and being so embarrassed. Why on earth would she want something that someone threw away? Well Mom, I owe you an apology! I've seen the light and it's RED!!

As we made our way home from church a few Sundays back I came across a set of benches all alone left to the mercy of the trash men. I just couldn't let that happen. So I dropped off the kiddies, threw down the seats and hauled those babies (in my Sunday best I might add) into the back of our SUV. Now the time has come. Regardless of what he might think, these little suckers are now a thing of beauty!! And what better color than Phillies RED!!

Before...

After...

Aren't they just beautiful! Although I only have one photographed the two are just alike. They are adorable here with our colorful arm chair with red accents. But I think they would be best on a patio, in a garden or in a playroom. Now here is the kicker, these bad boys are up for grabs!! That's right. We just don't have a need for them so I'm selling them to the highest bidder. So let me know if you're interested. (Please leave an email address as a contact)

Now time for some close-ups!

I just love this faux cracked detail. For these benches I followed the same method that I used for our Kitchen Island, except I stuck to a razor blade technique this time and axed the sand paper. And if you're wondering if they are kid friendly then just ask West!

"Kid Tested Mother approved!"
